Welcome to Ex Animo Wine Company, we are David and Jeannette Clarke; both qualified sommeliers with international experience who are passionate about food and wine. Our modus operandi is quite simple: work with and represent a select group of producers who are passionate about vineyards and aspire to reflect them in the cellar.
Our aim is to get South Africans to drink better wine, thus quality “in the glass” is paramount. While the principal criterion is deliciousness, we also place very high importance on terroir and sympathetic production methods. Ex animo means “from the heart” in Latin, we believe this expresses one of the most crucial elements in determining quality.
Delicious wines and passionate producers are only one part of the credo at Ex Animo Wine Company. Without on-going commitments to service, knowledge and education, much of the energy invested in each bottle both from the vineyard and by those who tend it has the potential to be wasted. To maximise the enjoyment of each bottle, we are constantly searching for ways to improve our service delivery, product knowledge and investment in this fantastic industry.
