Mother Rock ‘White’ 2019

R150.00

Christian Eedes (winemag.co.za): “From vineyards scattered throughout the Swartland, this consists of 57% Chenin Blanc, 22% Viognier, 18% Grenache Blanc and 3% skin-contact Semillon. A wonderfully complex nose of white peach, apple, lime, lemon, flowers and herbs. The palate is elegant and detailed – remarkably light and pure with bright acidity and a long, pithy finish. A delight to drink. 96/100.”

Mother Rock is a collaboration between winemaker Johan ‘Stompie’ Meyer and UK importer Ben Henshaw. The Mother Rock range is primarily concerned with expressing the combination of soil type and grape variety. The Force Celeste label has been created to produce an affordable range of natural wines. Johan’s wines are on the extreme edge of South African winemaking – they quite often have (harmless) sediment so are not for everyone.
