Saurwein 2024 Release | Mixed 6-pack

Chi means “life force” and is a blend of two Riesling vineyards, one from the cold Elgin WO and the other from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. Neal Martin said this about the 2022 vintage: "This is unequivocally one of the superior Rieslings that I have tasted from the Cape”.

"For the first time, 40% of grapes were sourced from Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in addition to 60% from Elgin as has been the case in the past. Hints of jasmine, pear, lime and green apple on the nose. Good fruit concentration, driving acidity and a pithy finish. Lovely balance and vibrancy without being too insubstantial. 93/100."

Nom stands for nombulelo ("gratitude" in isiXhosa) and Nomkhubulwane (a forgotten African goddess of agriculture). Situated at 700m altitude, the vineyard is a place where gratitude is instilled and tales appear.

"Matured for 10 months in 228-litre barrels, partially % new. Musk, cherry, a hint of orange and white pepper on the nose. The palate is pure and fresh with crunchy tannins – light and vital yet no shortage of flavour. Poised and elegant. 93/100. "

Om symbolises the concept of universal creation. This word is also synonymous with peace. The vineyard is situated in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge region, a beautiful and peaceful place close to Jessica's heart.
