Cap Classique Mixed Case 2025

17% of the Chardonnay is from the 2022 vintage and was fermented in 600l 4th-fill Stockinger barrels from Austria. The remaining Chardonnay component from the 2023 vintage was fermented in cement tanks. The Pinot Noir was was whole bunch pressed to ensure a gentle extraction. After settling, the free run juice was fermented in stainless steel.

The wine was on lees for 19 months (7 months more than minimum for Cap Classique) giving lovely texture and a fine bubble.

Jane's tasting notes:  "Pale salmon in colour. Nose full of bright citrus, intense raspberry, rose petal and a hit of spice. The palate is tangy and vibrant with a fine mousse and a refreshing, dry finish."

Hemel-En-Aarde Ridge

Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, the grapes were gently pressed and fermented before spending four years on the lees to develop its complex character.

Named the Makeba Cap Classique Brut, this wine is inspired by the spirit of "Mama Africa," embodying brightness and elegance.The bottle's unique label art is inspired by the African dot-painting style, Kika Ọnà.

This 100% Chardonnay Cap Classique is a delicate, fresh, and precise wine. Light- to medium-bodied, the palate is mineral and fine, with notes of citrus and fruit blossom. It's a perfect aperitif sparkling. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with a lively acidity that balances the fruit flavours. Flavours of green apple, pear, and a hint of almond contribute to the overall profile. The wine has a creamy texture and a lingering finish with a touch of minerality.
