The wine is pale, bright and clear in the glass. Lovely lemon zest and pear character with a slight salty note from the flor. Beautifully medium-bodied with a lifted palate of lemon peel, dry straw and pear skin. Subtle creaminess and acid balance out to leave a graceful finish. The flor is not overt at the moment, but does tend to become more dominant with time in bottle 13.5% abv.

Wine of Origin: Elgin
Named after the Palmiet River that traverses the Elgin region. Sadly, this is the last vintage of Palmiet that Stompie has produced. He is focussing on his own vineyards in the Piket-bo-Berg from the 2023 vintage onwards.
Grapes were whole-bunch pressed and fermented in 60% neutral oak and 40% concrete. 3 of the barrels developed flor, which is a character that has been present in all Palmiet bottlings in varying amounts.
