This case is the first vintage of Solo Wines, the exciting new chapter for acclaimed winemaker Carl Schultz.
After three legendary decades at Hartenberg Estate, Schultz has channeled his mastery of South African terroir into this signature trio: a 95-point Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon defined by its “koffieklip” soil mineralities and graphite-edged power; a savoury, spice-driven Wellington Syrah that balances fynbos aromatics with a generous, hearty texture; and a plush, high-altitude Merlot from Barrydale that redefines the variety through its succulent fruit and silky, “enveloping” structure.
These are wines of immense precision and site-specific purity, offering a rare opportunity to own the inaugural releases from one of the Cape’s most respected “Kings of Shiraz” and “Godfathers of Riesling” as he steps into his own solo spotlight.
