Join us as we taste, talk and revel in some seriously old vine Semillon with Rosa Kruger – a passionate vineyard manager and pioneer of the Old Vines Project and John Seccombe – an incredible winemaker who has been working with old vine Semillon since 2015.
Tannie Rosa began her looking for old vines in 2002, in search of older vines that were likely to be uprooted due to lower yields. By 2014 the Old Vines Project was fully launched and had supporters like Chris Alheit, Duncan Savage and Eben Sadie. The Old Vines Project is also an educational platform for sustainable farming and thoughtful crop management and production.

"It's no surprise to me that a significant number of my wines and winemakers of the year have an old vine connection, confirming how vital the Old Vine Project is the the South African wine industry and why the country's heritage vineyards are so unique."
