Join us for a dynamic, one-night-only food and wine event as Craven Wines partners with Johannesburg’s cult-favourite, Glory Restaurant in Parktown North. This dinner is a convergence of Stellenbosch terroir and bold, contemporary Pan-Asian flavours: an exciting pairing.

The Craven Philosophy: Purity and Edge

Mick and Jeanine Craven are legends in the South African wine scene known for their focus on honest, single-vineyard, single-varietal wines from Stellenbosch. Their winemaking is all about minimal intervention: practicing organic, using wild yeasts, and working with unique sites throughout Stellenbosch to achieve purity, freshness, and good juice.

The Glory Kitchen: Bold Asian Fusion

Glory is renowned for Chef Nick Scott’s inventive, flavour-forward dishes, taking inspiration from Pan-Asian food while maintaining a focus on sustainable, local ingredients.

This dinner is a natural fit. Craven’s naturally fresh, high-acid wines are the ideal companion for Scott’s intense flavourful and aromatic cuisine. Over the course of the evening, you’ll be welcomed with a drink, followed by three food courses and an accompanying selection of distinct Craven wines.

Date: Friday 28th November
Time: 18:30
Location: Glory, 17 4th Ave, Parktown North, Randburg, 2193

Working exclusively with Stellenbosch WO, Jeanine and Mick have been making Craven Wines since 2013. All their wines are single vineyard and single varietal.

Their goals are purity, freshness and balance – there is minimal interference with the grapes (only SO2) once they reach the cellar. Although they do not own any vineyards, by far most of the Cravens’ efforts throughout the year is spent in the vineyards and working with the farmers from whom they buy their fruit.

Most of the vineyards (Bluegum Grove, Karibib, Newlands) they source from are in the Polkadraai Hills ward of Stellenbosch. The granite soils here allow the Cravens to show the precision of the fruit they work with. There is a laser-like focus on the palate of these wines – this includes the skin-contact Pinot Gris which has gained a cult following around the world.
