‘Vibes’ began with a late-ripening parcel of dryland-farmed Mourvèdre at Talana Hill in Stellenbosch, grown by Damien Cadle. Mourvèdre, also known as Mataro or Monastrell, makes up the entire wine.
Harvested on 18 March, the grapes were loaded into the press as whole bunches and left to begin fermenting with naturally occurring yeasts. This deliberate skin contact before pressing gives the wine a different approach from rosés pressed immediately after picking.
The fermenting juice was transferred to 500-litre egg-shaped plastic vessels, known as Zeppelins, where it completed fermentation and matured on its lees for almost eleven months. It was bottled in January 2026.
