Van Loggerenberg’s Break a Leg Blanc de Noir 2024 is made entirely from Cinsaut grown on decomposed granite in the Helderberg. The bush vines were planted in 1992 and are farmed specifically for this wine, with their proximity to the ocean and constant sea breezes contributing freshness and a distinctly salty finish.
The grapes were picked in two passes to balance acidity and ripeness, then destemmed and gently pressed to extract only a delicate blush of colour and very little tannin. Fermentation took place naturally in stainless steel and old French oak, followed by full malolactic fermentation and eight months in barrel.
Light, dry and focused, with gentle red-fruit character, bright acidity and a savoury, saline finish. A serious Cinsaut that happens to be pale pink.
