For the past four years running, the Joostenberg Bakermat has featured in the Top 10 of the Winemag Signature Red Blend Report.
The Bakermat blend is the premier red wine made by Joostenberg. Sourced from their own organically-certified vineyards, it is owner and winemaker Tyrrel Myburgh’s best expression of the Estate in any given vintage.
To help celebrate the release of the 2017 Bakermat, we are offering a 6-pk containing each of those four rewarded vintages of Bakermat: 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017. These bottles are coming directly from Joostenberg’s historic cellar in Paarl.
The style has slightly changed over the four vintages with both Merlot and Touriga Nacional disappearing from the blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre increasing. Each vintage was accessed blind against other wines in the category by Christian Eedes, Roland Peens and James Pietersen – and each time they found the Bakermat to be among the top wines.
Each 6-pk contains:

The 6-pks are R1,595 each including delivery.
Sadly there are only 20 of these 6-pks available.
The 2014 is 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Syrah, 12% Merlot and 12% Touriga Nacional.
The 2015 is 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Syrah, 12% Mourvèdre and 12% Touriga Nacional.
The 2016 is 43% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Mourvèdre and 6% Touriga Nacional.
The newly released 2017 is 43% Syrah, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Mourvèdre.
