“This is a Sauvignon Blanc for people who like old vine Chenins” quips John.
With a reckless disregard for traditional Sauvignon winemaking techniques, John and his team have produced a wine that is smooth and luscious with a touch of nougat and sweet herbs.
Christian Eedes, Winemag:
“Grapes from Citrusdal Mountain aka Skurfberg. Fermented in old oak. Peach, nectarine, blackcurrant, dried herbs and some smoky reduction on the nose while the palate is massively concentrated with driving, almost puckering acidity and an intensely savoury finish. No doubt this makes a big impression but nuance and restraint don’t really apply… 92/100.”
