Trizanne Signature Wines | Vintage 2022

We are very excited to announce that the new vintage 2022 from Trizanne Signature Wines has been released.

Trizanne Barnard has transformed and relaunched her top range of wines: The Seascape Range. Long associated with the beach and the coast, Trizanne has always used ocean-influenced vineyards in her own wines.

She has developed a quiet confidence that is manifest in the new wines.

We have been working with Trizanne since our inception in 2014, and this is easily her most exciting wine release to date.

Across the Seascapes range, Trizanne’s attention to detail and gentle touch can be seen in these elegant and well-rounded wines. The Sondagskloof White continues to shine as one of the top South African examples of Sauvignon Blanc.

Trizanne says “2022 was a good year with healthy grapes and low disease pressure. I’m very pleased with it”.

A notable change to the Seascapes is the incorporation of the Syrah formerly called ‘Reserve’. Now gorgeously labelled as the ‘Elim’ Syrah, Trizanne says “…this is my best Syrah to date”, and we are inclined agree with her!

WO Elim
100% Syrah

Formerly known as the ‘Reserve’, and now relaunched as part of the Seascapes range. While the name has been retired, the quality and structure is as better than ever in this exceptional wine. A wine with elegance and poise.

WO Elim
From the same vineyard that Trizanne has been using for her Reserve wines since 2009.

Using gentle extraction and just a hint of new wood, this exciting wine from Elim shows Trizanne’s progressive approach and increased confidence.

“Multifaceted aromatics of potpourri, peach, citrus, green apple, dried herbs and hay while the palate has surprising weight given an alcohol of just 11.16% to go with big acidity and a saline finish. Unashamedly geeky.

WO Sondagskloof
100% Sauvignon Blanc

Situated behind Stanford east of Hermanus, this secluded valley is home to only two farms. The ‘Sondagskloof White’ was the innaugural wine in the Seascapes Range, and continues to be a wine of pure class and pedigree. Trizanne selects her very best Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this wine. 50% skin contact fermented results in added texture.

“Extraordinarily complex aromatics of black currant, citrus, peach, kiwi fruit, floral perfume and fennel while the palate has dense fruit, snappy acidity, some pithy texture to the finish. A seamless wine with great flavour intensity.

WO Benede-Duiwenhoksrivier
Situated on the south coast, near Vermaaklikheid, east of Cape Agulhus. Unusually for South Africa, this vineyard offers a combination of cool climate and limestone soils.

Trizanne says of the harvest, “we harvested near-perfect grapes, well formed…juicy little globes”.

“Pear, peach, citrus and a hint of vanilla on the nose. The palate is light and fresh with a gently savoury finish. Delicate and poised.

WO Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge
The most inland of the three famed Hemel-en-Aarde wards, between Hermanus and Caledon. Proper Pinot Noir territory.

“Strawberry, red cherry, a hint of musk and white pepper on the nose. Good fruit expression, moderate acidity and powdery tannins. Well balanced and immediately accessible.

WO Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge
100% Barbera

Punchy, with perfumed noted of lavender and violets. Packed full of character and interest.
