Bernhard Bredell is a seventh generation winemaker and all round wine geek: focussing on site specific and sometimes experimental wines. Bernhard mainly uses vineyards planted by his forefathers, on the slopes of the Sinai Hill in Stellenbosch.

Bernhard is a vigneron first, and a winemaker second. Actively willing to explain and disseminate information on vine growth, cover crops and all things viticulture, he often underplays his own hand in the winery. Bernhard has been responsible for the farming of the vines since 2016, and the results are more evident than in previous vintages. The crystalline quality that has become a hallmark of Scions of Sinai wines is elevated in this vintage. The purity and persistence of the palate on these wines is extremely impressive.
