Chi means “life force” and honours CHIUTA, the African god of rain; a fitting name for this vibrant Riesling shaped by the cool vineyards of Elgin and the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley.
The 2026 vintage blends equal portions of fruit from Dal Farm’s rocky red-slate soils in Elgin and De Bos Farm’s decomposed Bokkeveld shale and sandstone. Despite a challenging, rain-soaked growing season, the surviving grapes delivered exceptional freshness, expressive yellow fruit and beautiful balance.
This fragrant, off-dry Riesling opens with yellow stone fruit, custard apple and winter melon, followed by zesty sherbet, elderflower and jasmine-tea notes. A fine thread of acidity balances the gentle sweetness, carrying the wine into a fresh, floral and satisfyingly textured finish.
Enjoy it with salads, cheese, Asian-inspired dishes or food with a touch of spice or sweetness.
