Dolcetto from parcels within Roagna’s historic Barbaresco vineyards, made with the same care as the estate’s grander wines. Dark cherry and plum lead into violets, herbs and a gently bitter almond note, with bright acidity and fine tannins keeping it lively. This is Roagna in a more immediate register, but it is made with the same slow, traditional methods as the estate’s Barbaresco and Barolo. Pure Nebbiolo character runs through red cherry, dried rose, orange peel and earthy spice, with fresh acidity and fine, savoury tannins. 92 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.

Roagna’s distinctive Piedmont white pairs Chardonnay with a small amount of Nebbiolo vinified as a white wine. Deliberate oxidation of the must and slow maturation in neutral oak favour texture and longevity over simple fruitiness. The 2022 is taut and savoury, with lemon, orchard fruit, almond and a stony, saline finish. 92 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
